Are you a full time nanny travelling onboard a superyacht with your family?
Hello, I’m Ella – a superyacht nanny with oodles of experience onboard working with little people. I really love my job and want to share more with the community, so you too can help create incredible experiences onboard for your charges.
A superyacht charter is an exciting experience, but it is also very understandable that you are feeling a little nervous about it. I hope this blog post will help you feel a little more confident in what to expect, so without further ado, here are some of my top tips!
A superyacht charter is an exciting experience, but it is also very understandable that you are feeling a little nervous about it. I hope this blog post will help you feel a little more confident in what to expect, so without further ado, here are some of my top tips!
• Don’t wear clothes that blow up in the wind – it is often breezy onboard, so keep that in mind!
• If your charges have bottles that need sanitising, the interior crew can do this for you, but I often find it is easier to do it yourself. This is because you know exactly how you like them to be done and you can ensure you always have enough prepped bottles and bits in the right place at the right time.
• It is not easy to pop to the shop, so bring all the children’s supplies that you require. Even when there are shops in the (normally) small towns you visit, they are not that likely to have exactly what you need.
• Pack a jumper and jacket. Weather at sea can change very quickly! Also, some guests like the air con exceptionally cold, so if you get a chill easily, be prepared! Most likely you won’t use these items, but it is better to be safe.
• Onboard, theme nights are a regular occurrence, some of the most popular themes include: white party, 80s/ 90s, black and gold… to name a few. Bring something a bit more glam that could fit into these type of themes so you can feel the part (professionally). Don’t worry about it too much as the crew will often have something onboard you can make use of!
I really hope that you have found this helpful! If you’d like more information and support – I cover so so much more in my digital guide, it is the Ultimate Superyacht Nanny Pack. A few things you can expect from the guide include:
- How to host a brilliant treasure hunt
- What to expect onboard working with crew
- Safety advice
